. . . the Stearns County Recorder’s Office has a library of historical real estate records dated back to Land Patents owned by the first Stearns County settlers of 1855 through today’s current land ownership records!
The Office of County Recorder is responsible for the review, recording and archival preservation of over 400 types of legal documents to protect the rights and interests of individuals and institutions.
Legal documents presented to the County Recorder for recording pertain to:
- Real Estate (covering all lands located within Stearns County)
- Personal Property Liens (i.e. boats, cattle, etc. used as collateral for a loan)
- Military Discharge Records for all branches of the armed forces (data private records)
- Federal, State and County Tax Liens
The Stearns County Recorder and “Department Staff” have an unwavering mission and commitment to process documents and create archival records in compliance with statutory laws and with the highest possible degree of accuracy and quality for ‘YOU’ the homeowner, future homeowner, military service veteran, and others who depend upon the County Recorder’s Office as a reliable resource of historical records.
LandShark is a web-based application that provides registered users with online remote access to recorded document data and document images archived in the Stearns County Recorder's record management systems on a fee for service basis. FEE FOR SERVICE NOTICE: Credit card charge/payment method is not available at this time. Monthly charges will be invoiced and check or ACH payments will be accepted for LandShark service.
