This year there are many challenges for the unsuspecting gardener.
After telling my tale of woe last time, I spoke to a number of people on my side of the River (East) who had a similar experience. Now I am hearing about a more widespread affliction: BUGS! This weather is making for a bumper crop of the fliers, the hoppers, the creepy-crawlies.

I have to admit, for the last ten days I have been in a funk. It’s happened again, a nasty dump of hail that has devastated my yard. On the scale of the World Problems, this is not a major deal, I know that—I am trying for perspective, but despite chiding myself for shallowness, I am still unhappy.
