Fall has fallen!
Psssst! Have you noticed the temperature outside? Isn't it
Grand? You may not agree, but I am beyond tired of the heat and humidity! Is it just me, or has it been a particularly humid summer? Well, if it's my imagination, so be it, but I welcome the glorious beautifuly fresh air I was hit with this morning when I left my house. Self, I said, this is the BEST time of the year! You may have caught on, this is my favorite time of year! Football, school is starting, (yay) and the weather is cooling off. (double yay). SO, you may want to enjoy the beauty of Stearns County this Labor Day weekend. We offer several fun and unique opportunities close to home. Have you been to
Quarry Park yet? We not only have the cool swimming quarry, we have great hiking and biking trails. We have several fishing quarries, and if you are certifited, you can scuba dive. There's a very popular rock climbing wall for the daring, and a cool historical derrick exhibit for the history lovers. You can get a rock climbing or scuba diving permit from the office during weekday hours, and the gatehouse on weekends, from 11-7 pm. If you'd like a nice paved trail for a bike ride, roller blade or leasurly stroll in the country, why not hit the
Lake Wobegon Trail. It's got 54-miles of paved trails in Stearns County, and if you dare, you can connect with other trails to go all the way to Fergus Falls. That's 104 miles, folks. There are several other parks with picnic areas as well. Please see the
park grid for details. Enjoy Stearns County this Labor Day weekend!
