Well, not quite yet, but it's coming!!
Psssst.....did you notice the little change in the weather? It snuck up on us! The cold, the wind, the freezing rains, the almost snow! OK, we bit the bullet on that last snow storm which went north and south of us, but the inevitable is coming. Let's not despair, let's find a way to enjoy winter! I have an idea! Why not volunteer for Cross Country Ski Patrol?
Brand new this year, we have made the sign up super easy to do online!! If you are an intermediate skier, and are familiar with one of our four skiing parks, we would like to have you as one of our ski patrol volunteers. Ski patrol season starts December 15 and ends February 28. We will start grooming ski trails and walking trails when we get at least 4 inches of snow. So....all you have to do is sign up online and after you do the patrol, fill out a simple form (also now online). If you pick 2 patrol dates, of 2-hours each, we will send you a free Quarry Park annual sticker. So just go to the easy online sign-up, pick one of our parks, Quarry, Mississippi, Warner or Kraemer/Wildwood, and sign up. Check out the winter maps there too! By the way, you will need a state ski pass for Wildwood only. The rest are free for skiing. (Quarry Park has the usual parking permit fee). Check out our simple online instructions if you need more help.
If you don't want to volunteer, you can still have fun skiing or walking in one of the parks. Our great maintenance staff will groom the ski trails and separate walking trails every time we have significant snow. Check out our ski report page for the latest grooming dates. Have a great winter, and I'll check in on you soon!
