Enjoying the snow in our parks.
Unless you live under a rock, and even then, you must have noticed the abundance of snow this winter! Ah, but have you enjoyed it yet? I know, I've been grumbling about the slick streets, the piles of snow blocking intersections, and yes, took a tumble on the ice. BUT I also took a walk in Quarry Park on the great, packed walking trail!! Did you know that all four of our Cross Country Skiing groomed parks also have a walking path? This includes the newest walking path at Kraemer Lake/Wildwood County Park. You don't need a ski pass to walk out there either! (Just to ski! Get one) We've had some great weather, so come on out and have a nice hike this winter if you aren't a skier. These parks include Quarry Park, Mississippi River County Park, Warner Lake Park and Kraemer Lake/Wildwood County Park.
There is a great SNA area at Quarry Park where you can also hike or snow shoe. That's about 300 more acres folks. You can wonder around out there enjoying nature til you're ready to drop! There are no groomed trails out there, but you are welcome to ski out there as well. Now, isn't that better than grumbling about the icy streets? And just think, you can work off that pumpkin pie in about an hour! See you at the parks!!
