Folk icon Peter Yarrow is almost as well-known for his social activism as for his half century of music-making. As one-third of Peter, Paul, & Mary, he was both an energetic transmitter of traditional material and an early advocate of the songs of Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Laura Nyro, and Richard Farina. As a songwriter, his compositions range from "Puff, the Magic Dragon" and "The Great Mandala" to "Torn Between Two Lovers" to "The Colonoscopy Song."
