County Looking for Businesses Interested in Worksite Wellness Programs

Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) funding will be available for up to eight businesses in the County to engage in planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating a worksite wellness program.  Stearns County invites businesses to develop and submit proposals that address health promotion for their respective workplace.

Due to a short time line, businesses that are interested must be ready to move quickly on this project.  In order to be considered, prospective participants must meet 4 criteria. The business must:
•  be located in Stearns County
•  have an existing wellness program
•  agree to participate in an organizational culture assessment
•  be agreeable to implement a prescribed wellness campaign

An online screening survey must be completed to express interest in participating in this program.  This survey will seek answers to the above criteria as well as gather basic biographical data about interested businesses.  For further consideration as an applicant, the online Letter of Interest must be completed and submitted by 4:30 on December 3rd, 2010.

Following a review of the surveys, eligible businesses will be invited to an informational meeting on December 13th, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 in Room 121E at the Stearns County Services Center.  This session will provide in-depth details about instructions, forms and assistance for submitting a formal proposal.  Formal proposals will be due by 4:30 on Thursday, December 23, 2010.

Business leaders interested in additional information should contact barbara.corson@co.stearns.mn.us or 320-656-6020.
