Stearns County area motorists are advised that the intersection of CSAH 17 and County Road 168 northeast of Melrose will be closed for road work beginning Wednesday, August 4, 2010. The road work in this area is being done to correct a sight distance issue before CSAH 17 is resurfaced between CSAH 13 north of Melrose and CSAH 35 north of St. Rosa. The grading work is expected to take approximately three weeks. Once the gravel is placed on the reconstructed portion of the roadway it is expected that the remainder of the resurfacing project will begin a few weeks later.
All work is expected to be complete by the end of September. View a map of the construction areas on County Road 17. The prime contractor is Knife River Corporation of Sauk Rapids, MN.
Please keep in mind that all of the above dates are approximate and are very much weather dependent. Your patience is appreciated during this process. Questions or comments can be directed to Stearns County Public Works at (320) 255-6180.
