The cleanup process continues for many homeowners in the area who saw damage or downed trees after last week’s severe storms.

As homeowners work to clear downed trees, here’s a list of compost sites in our area that can be used for tree debris:

The site is open to City of Sartell residents.  $25 Neighboring Cities (Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud, St. Joseph and St. Augusta) can also purchase a permit for $55.
After unloading all trailers, pickup boxes, etc. must be swept clean. No branches over 3" in size will be accepted.

$15/pickup truck or small trailer-discount on multiple loads.  Henkemeyer Landfill accepts the following items: Yard waste such as grass, leaves, garden waste, dirt, tree brush, shrubs, including whole trees. Demolition Debris such as non-treated wood, insulation, shingles, tile, ceramics, metal, drywall, concrete, asphalt, bricks, or masonry.  Henkemeyer Landfill does NOT accept the following items: Stumps, household garbage, green treated wood, appliances, electronics, tires, hazardous materials, burnt materials, contaminated soils, or asbestos.

City of Avon

Location: go down Angelfish Avenue, take a right at the intersection, then go straight through the gate ahead.

Open to City residents and Avon Township Residents. Open during daylight hours. No fee. The compost site is for grass, leaves, brush and tree branches.  Nothing else accepted.
