County Sheriff
The primary duty of the Sheriff's Office is the safety and well-being of all persons and property in the County. This office is responsible for a wide variety of services, including:
- patrolling communities and responding to calls for service
- providing additional law enforcement services to local cities
- conducting in-depth investigation of crimes, abuse and fraud against persons and property
- medical examiner investigations and cremation authorizations
- serving civil process such as summonses, notices, subpoenas, levies, and Sheriff's sales
- providing 24-hour emergency communications coverage through the 911 dispatch center
- maintaining the safety and welfare of inmates placed in the County's custody
