Before you can vote, you must register. As a college student you may decide if your college residence is your home, or if your parents residence is your home. You must vote from the address you choose, and you can only vote from one address in each election. See Option 1 & 2 on how to register to vote.

You want to use your parents address as your residence, but won't be home to vote, you can Vote Absentee

Why Pre-Register?

To find your polling location, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State website.

You may vote if:

  • You are 18 years old on Election Day
  • You are a citizen of the United States
  • You have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding Election Day
