Juvenile Out of Home Placements
Youth placed on probation or parole may be ordered into temporary placements in residential facilities for treatment of chemical dependency, mental health issues, sex offender treatment or for purposes of providing specialized treatment or a substitute living environment (foster home, group home) because their own home cannot provide needed structure or care. They may also be placed in state correctional facilities or private correctional facilities for purposes of holding them accountable and public safety.
