Quarry Two "Melrose Deep 7"
Quarry Two is the largest and deepest quarry. The maximum depth in Quarry Two is 116 feet and it is located in the central part of the quarry. It is commonly known as the "Swimming Quarry".

Descriptive Narrative:
There are fish in the quarry and it has had very extensive recreational use. Extensive rock outcrops are dominantly red granite on the south and west sides. There are important shear zones in the southern half of the quarry. At the southern end, glacial till is exposed as overburden above rock surfaces which have well-preserved glacial polish. A topographic low which might act as a drainage way is at the north end. An active spring is at the south end where glacial material overlies bedrock. Graffiti on the west wall and spoils piles are widespread.
