Narrative Description:
Limited exposures of red granite are found along the north wall of Quarry Seven and there is a well-developed shear zone or "mini-fault" in the central area of the north wall. However, most of the low relief walls around this quarry are composed of glacial overburden or spoils blocks.
Quarry Seven is one of the larger, medium-sized quarries in the park and has a maximum water depth of 66 feet. Like Quarry Five it showed a slight rise in water level between May and July, 1994. That contributes to the recognition of a hydrogeologic anomaly in the southeastern part of the park.
