The Stearns County Parks Department offers many opportunities for recreational trail use.
The combination of the Lake Wobegon, Central Lakes and Soo Line Trails provides the longest paved rail trail in the country.
It is heavily used for
- biking
- hiking
- roller-blading
- walking
The Wobegon trail enjoys heavy snowmobile use in the winter. Four trails are regularly maintained for cross-country skiing during the snow season as well.
Quarry, Warner Lake and Mississippi River Parks also have biking, hiking and walking trails.
A new trail named "Dairyland Trail" (formerly Soo Line Trail) is being developed as well.
These trails are unpaved and offer opportunities for mountain and technical bikers.
