Anna Marie’s Alliance, the Stearns County Attorney’s Office, and the Stearns County Chiefs of Police Association have successfully collaborated to be awarded grant funded train-the-trainer instruction to implement a domestic violence lethality assessment program in Stearns and the surrounding communities in the fall of 2012. The grant from the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNADV) promotes strategies to address homicide prevention and reduce violence against women through the National Lethality Assessment Program, bringing lethality information directly to victims at the scene of domestic violence arrests. Implementation of a lethality assessment program is a goal of Stearns County’s system-wide Domestic Violence Partnership (DVP), the foundation for the nation’s first repeat felony domestic violence court in Stearns County, now in its fourth year of operation.
